CAbout us..... Richelieu Maltese today, is a very successful partnership between Judy E. McQuiston of Naples Florida and Pat Keen Fernandes of Knighsen California. The Richelieu Maltese all reside in Northern California in a lovely country setting. one hour from San Francisco. A small private exhibitor of American Kennel Club Champions since 1980.

Pat is an award winning Breeder of Merit with the American Kennel Club and nationally recognized Professional Dog Handler of World Class Champions successfully competing around the world..

Judy a Member of the American Maltese Assn for over 25 years has been involved with Maltese for over 30 years having bred trained and handled many Champions. She is retired from all breeding but keeps busy with her beloved house mouse Bella and remains actively involved in the management of the Richelieu dogs in California.

To date Richelieu Maltese is the home of the 2007 American Maltese Assn Best in Specialty show winner-

BISS BIS INT. Champion Richelieu Sugar Smacks-and 4 generations of National Specialty show point winners. Having bred or owned over 50 champions including 6 Best in Show and Best in Specialty show winners.

Health and temperament are prime important to the Richelieu Maltese so every litter is carefully planned, all parents, many of whom are AKC Champions of record and have been health tested before being incorporated into the Richelieu Breeding program. We work closely with our veteranian for more than 25 years and health check all puppies before being offered to new homes.

Our passion for Maltese shows in our beautiful dogs both in the show ring and in our homes as our cherished companions. We often work with Rescue and other breeders & mentor others about the Maltese in a commitment to the Sport and the future of quality beautiful Maltese.
